Nelda has been in my thoughts recently, with her sister Marie. I was baby sitter for these two delightful little girls when they lived on South Francis, in Lansing, many years ago. To learn of her adult years gave a fascinating view of the path she followed in life. She is blessed.

It was a great shock to hear of Nelda's passing. She was a wonderful lady, and it was so good to get to know her. My best goes out to Kristina, Brent and Bryan and the rest of the family.

My mother, daughter, and I only met Nelda once, through a mutual friend. I just want to let you know that all three generations of my family found her to be absolutely delightful. She certainly did "live until she died", and I will always keep that in mind.

I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I realize that words are never adequate to fill the loss that you are enduring. God is good and I am sure that she is having fun with my dad, or as she would say "Ronnie".

I am saddened to hear that the world has lost Nellie Cushman. I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. She was so loving and kind to me. She made me feel special and I will never forget her. I now have a beautiful 3 year old daughter (Jordan) who LOVES The Wizard of OZ....I always wanted to tell Nellie that Jordan loves that movie...we watch it over and over and over. It would have been nice to share that with her.

Nel was a wonderful lady I had the opportunity to meet and know in Las Cruces. She had a zest for life that was unquenchable. I'll miss her, her sense of humor, and her wonderful coconut cream pies.
