Roger W. Ross age 59 of Greenville died Tuesday October 10, 2006 at home.
He was born in Grand Rapids March 18, 1947 the son of Robert and Annabelle Porter Ross. He married Pamela K. Thwaites on July 2, 1982 in Grand Rapids.
He was a driver/manager in trucking at Grand Rapids, Ohio and Michigan. He loved the outdoors, hunting and motorcycling. He built motorcycles and liked to drive with the wind in his hair. He was a great husband and father with a big heart and was honest to a fault. He loved to tell a story in detail and really enjoyed his special friends in Wayward Son Motorcycle Club who have shown a special kindness during his struggle with cancer especially with the benefit fund- raisers. The family wants to thank the club members for their generosity to Roger and them and also a special thanks to Jody, Ruth and Therese of Hospice of Michigan for their loving care given to Roger and his family.
Surviving are his wife Pam, along with their children, Cassandra Faber, Carrie Ross, Keith Ross, Cody Ross all of Greenville, his daughter Jean (Don ) Owen and son Robert Brown of Florida and grandchildren, D.J. and Christina and Michael and Austin, his mother, Annabelle English of Grand Rapids, brothers, Tom Ross of Grand Rapids, and Doug Ross of Gainesville FL step brother Charles English of Morley , sisters, Patricia Zima of Greenville, Kathleen Fritsma of St. Petersburg FL and step sister, Thelma English of Amble, His special Mom, Leona Davis and her family, Ken, Jim, Chuck, Mike, Gladys, Janet , Pam’s family, Michael (Martha) Thwaites Georgia, Jenny ( Larry ) Miller of Belmont, Kristy Thwaites of Stanton, Candy Thwaites of Delton, Natalie Thwaites , Sue ( John) Mc Kellar of Grand Rapids , Mary (Larry) Pleune of Marne, Elizabeth ( Kirby) Hanson of Kentwood ,Judy (Rev. Don) DeBoer of Virginia and Barbara Little of Glendale AZ
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Ross, Step- father Charles English, brother Keith A. Ross, his wife’s parents, Irene and Edward Thwaites, brothers-in-law, Bill Thwaites and Edward Thwaites.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 14,2006 at 2:30 PM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be given for his children.
