Louis Verne Russell age 72 of Cedar Springs died Sunday October 22, 2006 at Spectrum
Health - United Memorial hospital in Greenville.
He was born February 13, 1934 in Croton Township Newaygo County MI the son of Bert E. and Claudia S. Teesdale Russell. He was married to Phyllis A. Goodwin in Belding on July 30, 1955.
Louis worked 41 years at Extruded Metals in Belding. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was a handyman especially fixing cars. He loved his family and enjoyed each child, grand and great grandchild and will be really missed by all.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, Martin, Fred and John Russell.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis , children; Sharon and Richard Johnson of Cedar Springs, Janice Helsel and Ruth Fraley and Mike Gravelle all of Gowen , Louis Jr. and Christine Russell of Greenville , Dawn and Victor Scharaswak of Sheridan and Steven Russell at home, 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Aaron and Betty Russell of Gowen, sister Pearl Roberts of Sparta, mother-in-law Margery Goodwin of Cedar Springs, Phyllis’ family, Helen and Delos Nielsen of Gowen, Floyd and Vicki Goodwin of Ionia, Jerry and Marlene Goodwin of Midland, Gordon and Diane Goodwin of Sheridan and Linda and Russell Varney of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
The family had a private viewing and cremation has taken place. No services will be held. Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville is serving the Russell family.
