My condolences to Betty's family. It has been more than 40 years ago that Betty was my first boss at the Greenville Daily News. She was a kind, caring person who taught me how to give 100 percent to a job. She was truly a gracious lady.

Uncle Keith, although we are in North Carolina, we are with you in prayer and constant thoughts. Aunt Betty was always so gracious and hospitable to both of us-we will miss her kind voice and sweet smile. We are happy she was able to visit here in North Carolina and be with us when she was here with you. We love you and will see you as soon as you can constantly see grass up there. Give Marv. Lori and Lou, all the kids our love and let them know we are not able to be there for the service but all of you are in our hearts.

I feel honored to have know Betty. I had the opportunity to get to know her by being a Girls State participant. She never forgot my name and made a point to talk every time we saw her and Keith at Big Boy. She was a very classy lady.
