Luella Ferne Secor age 85 of Greenville died suddenly Friday May 11, 2007 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital, Ionia. She was born on December 12, 1921 in Illinois the daughter of Charles G. and Golda French Smith. She married John D. Secor in Long Beach, California on January 13, 1945. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church Greenville and the VFW auxiliary Post# 5065 of Sheridan.
Her parents, brothers, Charles Doyle Smith, Chester Smith, Lester Smith, James Lindy Smith, Herbert Dale Smith and sisters, Dorothy Stonebrook and Genevieve MacLaren and grand daughter Christy all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John D. Secor , their daughters and spouses,
Susan and Ray Hart of Eagle, Diane and Dennis Simon of Fowler and Nancy Secor-Brunk and Michael Brunk of Marathon Florida, her grandchildren; Ray III, Gerald, Lisa, Michael and Becky and great grandson Devon. Also surviving are her brother Jack and Betty Smith of Palm Desert, CA and sister Juanita Wermuth of Middleton, MI, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; June Smith of Carson City, Lillian Smith of Lakeview, Dorothy Smith of Ithaca, Willard and Geraldine Secor of Appleton WS, Thomas and Jeanne Secor, Eileen Secor, Maureen Secor , Patricia Sawyer all of Fond Du Loc, WS and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May l5,2007 at 11 AM from St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Phil Salmonowicz as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM and Monday 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with a Rosary prayed at 7 PM Monday
