1931 - 2007
 Gerald Walter Flanery age 75 of Rockford died at home on May 31, 2007. He was born in Hart, MI on August 2, 1931 the son of Stanley E. and Lena Mabel Beggs Flanery. Gerry was the owner of Gerref Industries in Belding for 22 years before his retirement to Shamrock Farms in Greenville. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Association and the West Michigan Sheepherders Association and St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Harvard. He was married in Hart on June 2, 1951 to Mary Ann DePeel and his role as a family man was his first priority.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, their children; Geri Anne and Larry Curtis of Cedar Springs, Samuel Lee and Jacalyn Flanery of Sparta, Dale Allen Flanery of Sparta and Michael Shawn Flanery of Greenville, his grandchildren; Melissa Curtis, Heather and Tony Mallory, Marci and Damian McDougal, Lisa Flanery, Jill and Chris Denny, Bridget Flanery, Sean Michael Flanery, his great grandchildren; Michael, Claire, Luci, Alayna, Ben and Luc. Also his mother, Lena Mabel Flanery of Mears, his siblings, Donald and Donna Flanery and Robert and Patricia Flanery both of Walkerville, Norman and Lynda Flanery and Cindy and Bill Carlson both of Mears, his mother-in-law, Wilma DePeel of Walkerville and sister-in-law, Mary DePeel of Walkerville and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 5, 2007 at 11 AM from St. Margaret Catholic Church Harvard with Rev. Father Phil Salmonowicz as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Margaret’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville from 7-8:30 PM with a Rosary prayed at 8:30.Memorial contributions may be given to ALS West Michigan Chapter, Lutheran Home Care, St. Margaret’s Church, Hospice or a charity of your choice.

Dear Flanery Family,
Sorry to hear of your loss I know you are all very sad at this time but we will always remember what a friendly smiling face Gerry had.
