I met George and his family when I studied at MSU in 1967-1968. Our family droved through Greenville, and met one of George daughters outside a church, I dont't recall her name. Anyway, its a long story, but we were invited to the Steuwers residence, we stayed in their home overnight and were treated extremely friendly. It was a warm family. For the first time we were exposed to the famous american hospitality! Later on, the same daughter visited us in Copenhagen. My family have been travelling in US the last three years, 3-4 months every year, and I have tried to find the family Steuwer but with no luck. Finally, 6 months after George died, I found this website. -- My thoughts and prayers goes to his family, he has allways been in our hearts.

Dear Susie, Pam and Don,
So sorry to hear about your father's death. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.
I reflect often on growing up in Greenville and your Dad is one of the finest, nicest gentleman that I have had the good fortune of knowing. I really appreciated him at a crucial time in my life when I was searching for how I wanted to be when I grew up.
He really was an inspiration for me and served as a tremendous role model.
The picture of him in the golf cart and his smile is exactly how I will always remember him.
You have so many reasons to be proud of your Dad and I know they all will help you through the days to come.
God bless,
John Glerum

Dear Susie, Pam and Don,
Nita sent the news of your sad loss on to me. Your father was a good man and was very kind to our family. I hope you had a lot of good time with him and that he had a gentle passing. As another "adult orphan" myself, I understand the special sense a loss that others who still have a parent or two cannot fathom. Trust that the happy memories will sustain you and the love of your friends and family will provide comfort.
I remember you all with affection, Nona

Our deepest sympathies go out to all the Stuewer Family. George was a good hearted, fun loving man. I have many fond memories of him from spending time at my stepdad's farm to MSU football games, and sharing his "delicacy" at one meal. Not sure I'll ever forgive him and Don for doing that to me ;). But all in good fun. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Your all in our thoughts and prayers.
Love Dennis and Diana

I will always remember DR. coming to my dad's farm when I was a kid. We always wanted those plastic things he used to inject medicine into the cows teats. They made great squirt guns. I remember him saying "you won't squirt your dad will you?" Then we would laugh and say no. We had more fun with those things. I still remember that old Studebaker he drove for years.
Love
