
Harriet A. Johnson age 84 of Greenville died July 13, 2007 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Long Term Care. She was born near Stanton on September 14, 1922 the daughter of Niels P. and Caroline W. Hansen Christensen and was a graduate of Stanton High School with the class of 1939. She was married at her family home on June 21, 1946 to J. Fred Johnson. After High School she was employed at the Wolverine Glove factory and during WWII at the AC Spark Plug Division in Ionia. After her marriage she worked many years in downtown Greenville at Alma’s Ready To Wear. She loved to dance, play cards, sewing and especially loved her family and was loved back by them.
Her sisters, Marie Zank and Christine Sharp and brothers, Robert N. and Roy Christensen preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years J. Fred Johnson, their son and his wife Edward J. and Beth Ann Johnson, their daughter, Jayne C. Johnson all of Greenville grandsons; Rev. Robert and Rev. Beth Johnson of Youngstown, Ohio and Anthony Johnson and his fiancé Joan Clemente of Lake Mary, Florida, great grandchildren; Nielsen, Vivian, Dakota, Logan and Skye, her sister in law Lee Christensen of Stanton and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation time will be held on Monday July 16, 2007 from 6-8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with memorial contributions suggested to the Flat River Community Library or the American Cancer Society. The family will hold a private memorial service.
