1917 - 2007
 William Thomas Fellows age 90 of Greenville, formerly of Muskegon Heights, died Wednesday September 12, 2007 at Green Acres Retirement Living in Greenville. He was born in Manton MI on February 16, 1917 the son of Lloyd and Blanche West Fellows. He was a veteran of the US Army in WW II receiving a purple heart. His employment as a grocer was with Carl’s Supermarket in Muskegon Heights and also as owner operator of Nunica General Store. He was a member of the VFW Post 3195 of Norton Shores and the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
He married Shirley Mae Putney on May 20, 1946 and she preceded him in death on December 14,1988. Four brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death and also a daughter-in-law Phyllis Gorby in 1995.
He married Vernetta C. Swett Root in Greenville on August 28,1993 in Greenville at the chapel of First United Methodist Church.
She survives along with his daughter Karlyn and Charles Blue of Traverse City, his son Brian and Elaine Fellows of Mason, grandchildren; Mitchell Blue, Angela and Charles Taylor, Ryan Fellows, Darcie and Brian Decker and Kurt Fellows, Vernetta’s children; Jeanette Houghton of Greenville, Darwin and Linda Root of Cynthianna KY, Kay Ann Scanlon of Elkins Park PA and his sister Wanda Reading of Saginaw.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Rev. Aaron I. Sorrels officiating. Burial will be in West Hesperia Cemetery, Hesperia. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to 1st United Methodist Church, Settlement Lutheran Church or a local Humane Society.

Our sincerest sympathies at the loss of your father. Herb has fond memories of staying with you during the summers. I came into the family in 1966, and have many memories of Bill and Shirley coming to the farm and visiting with John and Neoma. Now all four of them can visit for eternity without interruption.
