 Phyllis Marie Simmons age 70 of Greenville died Thursday September 27, 2007 at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids. She was born in Greenville the daughter of Cyrus L. and Emma A. Rentsman Reed on June 25, 1937. Phyllis was preceded in death her son Timothy Van’tHof in 1973, by her husband Charles T. Simmons in 1977, her grandson Gordon James Seaman in 1977, her father Cyrus in 1990 and her sister Helen Lehman in 2004.
She is survived by her son and daughters, Ricky J. and Luz Van’t Hof of Annapolis, Maryland, Robin and Dennis Wasson of Marian, Ohio, Tammy Hunt and Christi and Tim Carnes of Greenville, her mother Emma of Greenville, grandchildren, Harold and Tamara Seaman, Timothy Seaman, Kelli, Tori and Kameron Carnes, Steve and Katrina Harrison, Juan and Laura Garcia, great grandchildren, Kelsey, Dusty and Lindsey Lehman and Logan Seaman, her brother Jerry and Edith Reed of Fenwick and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 1, 2007 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Jerrold T. Jones officiating with burial in Spencer Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Thanl you all for your warm an wonderful thoughts with the loss of our Mom, she was a wonderful mother, a true friend, and a GREAT Lady. We all love and will miss her dearly. But she will forever be alive in our hearts and our memories. Thank You all so Very Much.

In the last year I got to know Phyllis.I thought of her as a mom a very nice sweet lovin' woman.Who picked on my husband she knew how to have fun.My son thought of her as his grandma has said"i have lost a real grandma now"Pyllis you are loved and will be missed very much by this family. As for Robin,Tammy, and Chris we are here for you guys.Love You all very much. Love Jo,Jerry and the kids

Jerry and family,
We are so sorry to learn of your loss. She was a kind an loving lady. Always cheerful and pleased to tell you the history of her loving family. The Lord is getting a REAL GEM in eternal kindness and love here. I was so glad we were able to talk over old times again while I was working in the area.
