
Elizabeth “Ann” Rasmussen was called home to heaven on October 22,2007. Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Ronald Fase; her brothers and sisters-in-law Oren and Arlis Fountain of Pickford, MI and Ed and Betty Fountain of Fennville, MI; her nephew and his wife Gary and Connie Potter of Sparta, MI and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was born in Sunshine, Michigan June 5, 1934, to Roy and Ethel Fountain. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Keats, her sisters Shirley and Laurel and her parents.
Ann was a farmer’s daughter and attended the Pickford School system. She graduated from Michigan State University with a teaching degree. While at college she met and married the love of her life Keats Rasmussen. She taught at the Trufant and Crystal schools before becoming a full time Mom and homemaker. Ann was a very active in church circles and activities. She also was a 4-H leader for baking, cooking and sewing and could make the tastiest apple pie with a perfect flaky crust. Though she was challenged by physical ailments all her life, she never complained and remained loving of her God, family, and friends. She will be remembered for her quick and ready smiles, her humor, her bone-crunching hugs and her instant willingness to help in any situation.
Funeral services will be held at her church, Greenville First United Methodist on Thursday October 25 2007 at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Joy Moore officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice, Clark Retirement Community or First United Methodist Church.
