
Stephen Marshal Rogers age 88 of Gowen died at home Friday November 16, 2007.
He was born in Pierson, MI on June 5, 1919 the son of Francis and Carrie Rogers.
He graduated from Howard City High School and served as a Sgt. in the US Army Air Corp during WWII in the India, Burma, Northern Burma and the Chinese Offensive earning three bronze battle stars. He retired in 1982 from the former White Consolidated Industries (Gibson’s) and was a member of the Oakfield Baptist Church.
He married Emma A. Davis in Gowen on October 17,1970 and she survives along with their children, Timothy and Debra Rogers of Greenville and Beth and Patrick Mullins of Milan MI, grand children, Melissa Fenton, Jessica Fenton, Mark Rogers and Grace Rogers, his sisters Rose Cox of Howard City and Virginia French of Camden MI, his wife’s family; Norman Davis of Greenville and Texas, Blanche Blow of Grand Rapids, Alice and Ed Jackson of Cedar Springs, Eloise Ostrander of Lakeview, Billy and Sharon Davis of Trufant and Bonnie and Richard Rounds of Sparta and nieces and nephews.
His brother Francis died in 1996 and sister Mary Fransen in 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 20, 2007 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Owens officiating. Burial will be in East Montcalm Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Gospel of Asia Mission or Oakfield Baptist Church.
