James Talmage OrsbornJames T. Orsborn age 81 of Turk Lake Greenville died suddenly Monday December 17, 2007 at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus Emergency Room.

He was born in Gary, Indiana on March 21, 1926 the son of Homer T. and Elizabeth Foelker Orsborn. Jim graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in geology and was employed by Pickard Mather Mining Co and retired from ConRail.

He married Katherine Bria on October 30, 1954. He served in the Merchant Marines after graduating from Merchant Marine Academy in WW II, was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church of Greenville, former member of Greenville Lions Club and was a member of the Friends of the Flat River Community Library.

Surviving are his wife Katherine of Greenville, his children, James B Orsborn of Greenville, Katherine E. Sampson of Lakewood, Ohio and Mary and Dr. David Price of Greenville, Wisconsin, grandchildren; Michael, Brianna, Kaira and James, great grandchildren; Rosalyn, Lauren, Nicholas and Charlotte, his sister Betty Bey of East Dundee IL, brother John and Sally Orsborn of Pt. Townsend Washington, his brother-in-law, Joseph Bria of Bessemer MI and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 21, 2007 at 11 AM from St. Charles Catholic Church Greenville with Father Phil Salmonowicz as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. A Vigil service will be held on Thursday at 6 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with visitation to follow to 8 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at St. Charles. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Charles Church.

My deepest condolences. I am his nephew George Bria's daughter, and came across this notice online by chance. It has been a long time since I had seen him, but he will be remembered fondly by us all.
