1964 - 2008
 John Robert OConnor age 43 of Greenville died at home on February 4, 2008 in Greenville. He was born in Greenville on October 26,1964 the son of Joseph D. and Helen M. Karns OConnor. John was an auto mechanic in the area for many years and enjoyed the out of doors, with his snowmobile, golfing, playing horseshoes, and was a NASCAR fan, but especially loved his family.
His parents have preceded him in death.
Surviving are his significant other of many years, Mary Jo Mangus of Greenville , his two daughters; Cortney Marie OConnor and Pernell Fox of Wyoming and Christin Leigh OConnor of Greenville, grandson Malachi Fox, step-daughter, Tabatha Zeigler of Greenville, his brothers and sisters, William and Jane OConnor of Fenwick, Theresa Bills of Stanton, Thomas OConnor of Greenville, Tami and Boyd Condon of Gowen , step-sister Melissa and Cory DeVries of Rockford, step-mother, Sharon OConnor of Greenville, his grandparents, Francis and Bessie Karns of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday February 8, 2008 at 12 Noon from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Kendall Harger officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be given to his children

To Mary and family, John was a good friend of mine, we had some good times together. He always made me laught and always there to give me a hand if he could. I am sorry he is gone, I send my condolence to Mary and family, I wish I could be there but because of my job I can not, I am sorry. He was a good parent and he loved his family. i wish i could be there for the funeral but time off from work is hard to get these days..i will be staying friday night at the winter inn in greenvill and hope to see you and a few of the old crowd uptown..we should all get together friday night..call me! my number is 616-855-2468. he will be missed and i have a lot of memories of growing up with him..hang in there girl..Greg
