Betty Jane Garvey formerly of Greenville died Thursday February 14, 2008 at Allegan County Medical Care Facility in Allegan. She was born in Grand Rapids on October 12, 1926 the daughter of John Cieielski and Virginia Fortuna Wilson. Betty was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville and served on the Altar society. She was a waitress in the area for many years working at the former City Club, Candlestone Inn and the Winter Inn. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and formerly cooked at the Legion.
She was preceded in death by her sister Sharon DeHart and her brother Eugene Ciesielski.
Surviving are her children; Jackie and Randy Perkins of Allegan, Pat and Jake Banks of Plainwell, Michael and Margaret Garvey of Greenville and Karen and John Moy of Greenville, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, her brother-in-law Robert DeHart of Greenville and her nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday February 18,2008 at 11 AM from St. Charles Catholic Church with Rev. Father Fred Brucker as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation will be held just prior to the Mass on Monday at Church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinsons Foundation or Allegan County Medical Care Facility.
