Keith Allan Shelden Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1948 - 2008

Keith Allan Shelden, 59, our father, friend, uncle and brother died early Wednesday morning, March 19th, 2008 at his home on Larsen Avenue in Gowen, Michigan. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 24th, 1948 to Robert and Shirley Newcomb Shelden.

Keith spent most of his life in Michigan where he has worked a variety of jobs. At one time, he owned a gas station in Trufant and a furniture store in Hastings, but his main occupation for many years was as a semi-truck driver and an employee of Home Depot. During Vietnam, Keith served faithfully in the Marine Corps as a member of Platoon 2067.

He married Gae Deane Brough on October 21st, 1983 and they spent more than twenty years enjoying life together before Gaes death in 2006. Keith and Gae doted on their daughter, Mariah, a current senior at Greenville High School. She was the light of their life and they especially loved spending time with her. Keith enjoyed riding his motorcycle, raising St. Bernards & Bulldogs, having friends over for cards, going bear hunting, and rooting for Tony Stewart in the NASCAR races.

Keith is survived by his daughter Mariah Kae Shelden, of Gowen; and Gaes children Andrea (Tony) Shepard of Belding; and Anthony Krick of Tampa, Florida. Keith was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his brothers Robert and Wayne Shelden. Keith will be missed by all of his family including many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Private good-byes were said at Keiths home in Gowen before a requested cremation by Hurst Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
