
Audrey Marion Richmond age 82 of Greenville and formerly of the Alpena area passed away Thursday April 3, 2008 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Greenville. She was born near Gowen on February 1, 1926 the daughter of LeRoy and Anna Johnson Griffith.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School and was married to Fred W.(Bill) Richmond in 1947. She and her husband owned Richmonds market in North Greenville from 1953 to 1964.She was a coordinator with a support group for the visually impaired and was administrative assistant with the Michigan Association of the Blind while her husband was President. She enjoyed nature, bird watching and gardening. She loved following football and baseball teams and was interested in progressive politics and wanted to vote for a woman president. Her fondest memories were of sailing with her husband on Grand Traverse Bay. Her outgoing and friendly personality gained her friends of all ages and walks of life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all those lives she touched.
Her husband Bill preceded her in death on July 8, 2007, her sisters Lucille Rasmussen in 2006 and Geraldine Pringle in 2004 , her brothers, Robert Griffith in 1955 and James in 2001.
She is survived by her daughters; Willow Richmond of Lansing and Jennifer Richmond and Terry Bronemann of Bellingham, Washington, her grandchildren; Angela Riggs of Greenville, Issac VanderSchuur of Lansing, Aaron and Elliot Bronemann of Bellingham, WA, great grandchildren Tanner Riggs and Morgan Riggs, her sisters-in-law, Marcia and Lloyd Walker of Greenville and Elinor Chipman of Big Rapids, her brother-in-law, Robert Rasmussen of Grand Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
A Time of Remembrance service will be held on Monday April 7, at 2 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with a visitation at 1 PM Monday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer or the Arthritis Foundation.
