
Irma I. Bristol age 78 of Rockford formerly of Gowen MI died Thursday April 17, 2008 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. She was born in Lakeview MI on June 23,1929 the daughter of William E. and Hattie O. Hacker Mahlich. She married Richard G. Bristol in Lakeview on April 13, 1958 and he preceded her in death on June 28,2003. Her brothers Wellington, Loren, Wayne and Eldon Mahlich and her sister Genevieve Barton also preceded her in death.
She was an artist and crafter working with oils, ceramics, quilting, knitting, basket weaving and taught many of her crafts including adult classes from Montcalm Community College. She enjoyed her family and made friends easily and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children; Allen and Lynn Sovereign of Bedford Texas, Luana Sovereign of Rockford and Edwin Sovereign of Bishopville, Maryland, grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth, Timothy, Anna, Eric and Rachel Joe, John and Rebecca and Jason, her great grandchildren, Keegan, Maison, Braden, Emerson and Gavin, her brother Gerald and Phyllis Mahlich of Cedar Springs, and brothers-in-law, Jerry and Carol Bristol, Hugh and Sue Bristol and Allan and Sylvia Bristol and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday April 21 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Rev. R. Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Mills Cemetery, Gowen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice or the Krause Memorial Library, Rockford MI.
