Robert Gene Lewis Jr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1961 - 2008

Robert Gene Lewis Jr. Robert Gene Lewis Jr., passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2008. Robert is survived by his two daughters: Olivia Jayne Lewis (Redmond, WA) and Brianna Jo Lewis (Rockford, MI). He is also survived by his parents Robert Lewis Sr. (Gowen) and Judy Lewis (Stanton); his sisters Valarie Knaggs (Jerry) and Kathy Lewis-Barnwell (William); and his brother David Lewis (Shari). Uncle Bob is survived by Ashleigh Scheid, Keegan and Julia Knaggs, and Harleigh, Jessica, Marshall, and Elliott Lewis.

Those of us who were fortunate enough to know Bob certainly have memories of jokes, pranks, and stories that make us laugh. He was a dedicated Chips fan and a proud graduate of Central Michigan University. With his natural athletic abilities, Bob was helping to train the next generation of Lewis/Scheid athletes. He was generous with everything he ever had. Bob was a good Dad, a great friend but easily Worlds Best Uncle! He attended all of the sporting events, school concerts, and birthday celebrations he never failed at being the life of the party. Most of all we are so proud of the great improvements he had made in his life changing to be the best person he could be.

We will remember Bob reading the newspapers, watching sports, and planning his next joke but we always miss him. Please join us at Hurst Funeral Home for visitations Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., viewing at 1:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be given to the Greenville Athletic Boosters.

Bob was an incredible guy who knew the importance of family. We will miss him very much and the smile on his face whenever we ran into him at a football game or biking on the trail. I loved his fun nature and I am proud to call him my cousin.

Bob Sr. & family, Sorry to hear about "JR's" death. I really enjoyed coaching football with him at Greenville High School and he was one of the nicer Greenville-guys that I have had the pleasure of being associated with. Our prayers are with his and your families.
