
Neil Lynn Holbrook age 74 of Petoskey formerly of Greenville died Sunday August 3, 2008 at Tender Care Gaylord. He was born in Belding on November 4, 1933 the son of Melvin and Nathella Brewer Holbrook. He was a graduate of Belding High School in 1952 and was employed for Michigan Bell Telephone for 30 years and also was manager for Washington West Apartments for 12 years. He married Kathleen L. VanBergen in Greenville on November 15, 1952 in Greenville. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed his retirement to Petoskey with his wife Kathy.
His parents, two sisters, two brothers preceded him in death as did his daughter Denise Grover in 2007 and his grandson Neil Grover in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Kathy Holbrook of Petoskey, his daughter Lou and Bill McDonald of Greenville, sons Lee and Shelly Holbrook of Petoskey and Eric and Leigh Holbrook of Colorado, his grand children, Andrea and Everett Wiggins , Tim and Danni Grover , Nicholas and Michael Holbrook and great grandson Noah Grover, his brother, Melvin and Maureen Holbrook of Oklahoma, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Eldora VanBergen of Florida, Gerald Van Bergen of Belding, Sue and Joe Juskewicz of Sand Lake and several nieces and nephews.
A Scripture Memorial service will be held on Saturday August 9 2008 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimers Association.
