Burton Russell Harmon, Jr.HARMON- Mr. Burton Russell Harmon, Jr., 88, formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 26, 2010 at his daughter's home at Deer Lake, Greenville. He was born August 25, 1921 in Lansing, the son of Burton and Winona (Womack) Harmon. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a salesman for several furniture companies, including the J.L. Hudson Co. and Woodard Wrought Iron. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife, Audrey, who he married on March 27, 1979; his children, Tim (Beverly) Harmon of Portland, OR, Susie (Fred) Peacock of Greenville, Amanda (Bob) Brown of Seminole, FL, Melissa (Bill) Tague of Brooksville, FL; his step-children, Keli Motanagh of St. Louis, MO and Edie (John) Bilingsley of St. Charles, MO; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 20 at 2:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Rev. Steve Charnley of the Greenville First United Methodist Church will serve as officiant. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Ray I. Booth Post 101. Friends and relatives may greet the family from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, the Salvation Army, or a charity of one's choice.

Sue, Fred, and family; I am so sorry for your loss. I met your dad many times over the years when he would visit Burt and Winona. I greatly admired him. our best to you at this difficult time. Jerry and Mary Ellen

My thoughts and prayers go out to Susan Peacock and family and Annie Harvey and family at this time. I'll never forget the first time I met your grandfather at your wedding Annie, he wanted me to dance with him, such a nice guy, he treated me like family. I went to shake his hand, he said "we give hugs in this family", nice to meet you Kelly, a friend of Annie's is a friend of mine.
