Many years ago I worked at what was then the Commercial Bank in Greenville. Martha worked at the City Hall at that time. We would often meet at Goulet's Drug Store for lunch. We liked to eat grilled tuna sandwiches. I remember Martha always being cheerful and having a smile. She was such a neat dresser. I really admired her. In later years, when she was at the hospital, I would often take my HeadStart class on a field trip to visit the people at Extended Care. Martha loved it! I would sit by her and she would hold my hand and smile. I like to think she knew who I was. She tried so hard to make words and communicate. I wish I had visited that dear lady more.

I remember meeting Aunt Martha after she married my Uncle Ted (Lester) Wheeler. She was a very nice lady and was a welcome to Uncle Ted's life and to the entire family. May God bless her.
