1936 - 2010
Elaine L. Habig age 73 of Gowen MI died Wednesday March 31, 2010 in Grand Rapids at Sunrise of Cascade. She was born in Mingo Junction OH on December 10 1936 the daughter of Joseph and Mae Diorio Sprochi. She was a graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing and received her Certified Nurse Anesthetist Degree and was employed at the Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville for many years. She married William Habig in 1958 in Ohio and in retirement lived near Greenville Michigan. She is survived by her husband William, her children; Scott (Donna) Habig of Glenwood PA, Denise (Einer) Thorlund of Greenville MI and Michele (Rick) Blockinger of Doylestown, PA, her grandchildren, Drew, Chad, Megan, Elin, Cal and Clay, her brother, William (Paulette) Sprochi of Wintersville OH and sister in law Marna(Tom) Rahr of Columbus OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Phillip.
No funeral services will be held and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Education Foundation of Greenville (Our 3 campaign fund) or to Spectrum Health Hospice.
