1918 - 2010
LaVerne Esther Forman, 92, of Gowen, drifted peacefully into eternal life in the presence of her loving daughters on Friday, June 25, 2010. She was born in the city of Chicago on February 12, 1918, the daughter of Floyd and Esther Mellies. LaVerne married Frank W. Forman on May 4, 1940 in Chicago. LaVerne's greatest source of pride was raising her 3 daughters on her own after the death of Frank in 1951. She cherished her family and enjoyed any time spent with her grandchildren, from recitals to sporting events. Her family was truly her life. She will be dearly missed by her children, Karen and Don Peterman, Darla and Ron DeYoung, and Fran and Ken Weller; her grandchildren, Greg McNitt, Larry and Maribeth McNitt, Kevin and Pam DeYoung, Dawn and Mark DeWitt, Kyle and Cari DeYoung, Jason and Karen Weller, Joshua and Robin Weller, Megan and Bradley Brus, Deb and Al Mulvaney, and Chuck and Sherry Peterman; and her 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Greenville First United Methodist Church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. The family will meet with relatives and friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Laurels of Carson City, where LaVerne was wonderfully cared for and enjoyed friendships with staff and residents, or to the Greenville First United Methodist Church.

Dear Family....Such a precious soul your beloved "Gigi" was. I will always remember her wonderful smile and sense of humor. She was always interested in what I was doing, even though I wasn't one of her own grandchildren. I will miss seeing her smile at family gatherings at Pam and Kevin's house. In the last few years, she was always in my thoughts and prayers as she struggled with declining health. We will continue to pray for your family in the coming weeks as you go on without her. Rest in Peace Gigi...We love you!

Dear Family- I am saddened to hear of your loss. Your Mom was so special and you were all very special to her. I have wonderful memories of the time I spend with her and the laughter and tears we shared. I Praise our Lord that she is at her eternal rest and reunited with all those she missed and loved. LaVerne was a dear friend to all my family and we offer our sympathy to all of you. Ginny, St Charles, IL

LaVerne will be very missed. She was truly a very special lady! She certainly did love her family and was very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of the love of God and the love of family.

I feel blessed to have made your mother's acquaintance. I enjoyed playing many a Sunday SkipBo game with my mother and yours and their friends at The Laurels. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time.
