1929 - 2010
 Bessie E. Schreiner age 81 of Greenville passed away on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at her home. She was born in Greenville on May 13, 1929 the daughter of Clair and Ruth Reed Williams. She was married to Richard O. Schreiner on June 9, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1991. Her son-in-law Bernard Batog also preceded in 2009.
She was employed for many years at the former Gibson Refrigerator Corporation and also Dibble's Market and Double D Plastics. She was a former member of the Flat River Conservation Club and received many awards and honors for her marksmanship with guns.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Jim) Smejkal of Greenville, Vicki Batog of Dorr and Michael (Nancy) Schreiner of Lansing, grandchildren, Becky Bunce, William Bunce, Melanie (Darren) Short, Kathryn (Shaun) Main, Kimberly(Jeffrey) Griffey, Richard (Jeanette) Schreiner, 16 great grandchildren, her siblings, Alice Wood of Edmore, Doris (Bob) Ziegenfuss of Florida, Ronald (Loretta) Williams of Oregon, Lewis (Marilyn Rhoads) Williams of Greenville , Lorna Van't Hof of Grand Rapids and Iris (Craig) Rusnell of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 2, 2010 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home. Rev. Father Fred Brucker will serve as officiant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Flat River Community Library or the National Autism Society.

Grandma, I miss you so much. I miss your humor and kindness. I have a little son on the way, that I wish dearly you could of met. There is not a day that goes by, that I wish you and Grandpa Butch were still here. I would give anything to have you here and to continue writing our letters. You said you would write later, but unfortunately that was your last :( I love you.

My mother had a full life with many accomplishments. She was an accomplished trap shooter, a great cook and provided for her family under very difficult times. She will be missed by those who loved her.
