Laura Ann (Gross) Satir, age 49, of Ann Arbor passed away suddenly on July 12, 2010 while caring for a terminally ill friend. She was born in Grand Rapids and attended Rockford schools and later graduated from Eastern Michigan University. Laura was the first grandchild for Sonia and Edmund Roslanic and Joe and Erna Gross. Laura is survived by her parents, Ray and Jackie Gross; brother, David (Robin) Gross; grandparents, Joe and Erna Gross; nieces, Amber, Morgan, and McKenzie; nephew, Remington; great-nephew, Jackson; great-niece, Phoenix; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will all miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her cousin, Michelle Roslaniec. Laura was living in Ann Arbor, where she met her soulmate, Mike Sifter and many friends who loved her. Friends say she cared for everyone but herself. Laura had a way of making others laugh and feel better about themselves. Just her smile would light up a room. Laura loved gardening, flowers, squirrels, and birds. Her greatest ambition was serving the Lord by taking care of everyone and everything God made. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 AM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 10:30 to 11:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Kent County Animal Shelter or the Ann Arbor Animal Shelter.
