Douglas Lloyd Dulek, loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, age 55, of Greenville died Thursday, July 15, 2010 of complications from a recent surgery. He was born March 22, 1955 in Sheridan, the son of Richard and Wilma (Merithew) Dulek. On July 8, 1978, he married Deb Cunningham. Doug was a fun-loving man who was loved by all who knew him. He truly lived the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have others do unto you . He loved golfing, gardening, hunting, and playing cards. He enjoyed Oldies music trivia, John Wayne movies, and cooking for family and friends. He adored his Pomeranian, DeeDee. He worked at IEM in Ionia for 29 years and at Graphite Engineering in Greenville for the past four, where he especially enjoyed working alongside his son. He will be deeply missed, especially by his wife of 32 years, Deb; son, Derek (Erin) Dulek; mother, Wilma Dulek, sisters, Carolyn Wiczorek and Sharon Dulek, sister-in-law, Betty (Rick) Sloet; brothers-in-law, Fred Cunningham and Russ (Carolyn) Cunningham; step-mother, Pauline Dulek; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dulek; parents-in-law, Bill and Virginia Cunningham; sister-in-law, Connie Sheaffer; and two nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
