1947 - 2010
 Robert Dean Porter, 63, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Metron of Greenville. He was born May 24, 1947 in Greenville, the son of Milon E. and Barbara Jean (Cahoon) Porter. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army's Military Police in Germany during Vietnam. He worked in maintenance at Ore-Ida for 22 years. He liked to hunt, and loved truck pulls, trike pulls, Jeep racing, and motorsports of all types. He enjoyed collecting and restoring Cushman motorscooters and especially loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Rob is survived by his daughter, Holly (Jonathan) Tabb of Columbia, TN; brother, Ronald (Cheryl) Porter of Gowen; and nephews, Kevin Porter of Rockford and Eric (Angela) Porter of Greenville and their children Andrew, Bryce, and Cullen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Rev. Betsy Kamphuis of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate, and military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Ray I. Booth Post 101, Greenville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Ray I. Booth Post 101 or to Heartland Hospice.

Bob was the best friend a person could have in life,he was my best friend. Because of Bob I got to do things in life that some people can only dream of. Bob made me change the ways I live in life, he was always there for me and many other people in life.He was also the safest person to work with.Thank you for all you have done for me and the memory's that I will have for the rest of my life. You showed me places and things that would never have happend without you and I thank you for them. Thank you Bob I will never forget you as long as I live. I look forward to the day we can be together again and once again you will be able to show me things that are different again and once again Thank You for being a part of my life love you and don't worry I will be there someday where we will carry on our friendship again.
