Harry James Wickham, 98, passed away late Monday, November 22, 2010 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Kelsey Campus Long Term Care in Lakeview. He was born March 22, 1912 in Stanton, the son of Arthur and Anastasia (Bell) Wickham. On November 30, 1933, he married the former Margaret Lucille Gillespie of McBride. Harry was a lifelong Stanton area resident, farming his family's property for most of his life. He also worked at Ranney Refrigerator Co., retiring after many years of service. He and his wife were foster parents to many children over the years. He loved to garden, hunt, and fish. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret; daughter, Dorothy Marvin; granddaughter, Danielle Wickham; and sister, Leona Gates. He is survived by his daughters, Noreen Doolittle of Vestaburg and Brenda Ridgeway of Stanton; grandchildren, Pamela (James) Jones of Gowen, Annette (Brian) Scott of Crystal, Jeffrey Ridgeway and Monica Ridgeway of Stanton, Amber Ridgeway (friend Mike) of Greenville, and Barry Ridgeway, Jr. of Gowen; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hurst Funeral Home Greenville, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Rev. Bruce Anna, pastor of Pine Grove Church, will serve as officiant. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Entrican.
