MERREN- Mr. Bruce F. Merren, age 81, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Metron of Greenville. He was born January 12, 1930 in Greenville, the son of Peter and Mae (Hansen) Merren. His mother died during childbirth, and Bruce was raised by his father and step-mother, Olive Merren. He was a graduate of Greenville Senior High School, Class of 1948. On June 30, 1956, he married the former Sally Decker at St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville. Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a long-time member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Federal Mogul after 43 years of employment. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally; children, Kim Wilson (fiancé Mike Andrews) of Greenville, Daniel Merren of Cedarville, and Robert Merren of Greenville; grandchildren, Andy Wilson of Boston, MA, Molly Wilson of Alpena, Kaleb (Kristin) Merren of Idaho, and Cody Merren of Idaho; sisters, Nancy Martin of Oklahoma, Ellen Merren of Holland, and Sally (Mike) Johnson of Leroy; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Decker of Belding; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville, Rev. Phil Salmonowicz celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, with military honors rendered by the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101. Memorial contributions in Bruces honor may be given to St. Charles Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, or the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101.
