Virginia was a great friend of my mother, Florence Jayne. My mother cherished her friends who were always willing to go somewhere with her and for sure Virginia was one of those. My mother thought a lot of her and I enjoyed spending time with her when I was visiting. I especially remember her spectacular crystal collection that she proudly showed to us. She was one of the mighty women who showed us how to live and I consider myself lucky to have known her.

Dear Ron, Jo,Rick and families. We are so sorry at the loss of your mom and friend to many. She was my seamstress and I worked at the church with her a lot. She was a special gal. It,s very hard losing a "MOM" Love to All Dick and Nora Were in Florida so couldn,t be there.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Virginia, although we are sure she is with the angels now. We will all miss her friendly face and willing hands. One of my favorite kitchen buddies. And she did our alterations for years, first through Gays then personally.

Although I didn't know Virginia well, she was a wonderful presence at First Church and a true blessing to all whose lives she touched. I will miss seeing her on Sundays. My deepest sympathies to you all on her passing.

A further thought ~ This past Sunday ~ on the Lord's Day ~ God declared "it is time". With this speaking of His Word, your breath was taken away and you were borne home by His angels. Now, there is a new star shining in the Heavens. There is no greater blessing that any of us can ever hope to receive.

I much regret that I was not fortunate enough to have met Aunt Jinny, although I spoke with her a few times. The world has lost one of the better ones. I have heard that owls are supposed to be a good omen. I remember years ago when my Grandmother passed, I stayed at her home to watch over things until arrangements could be completed. That night there was an owl hooting outside her window. This morning at 6AM there was this huge owl on the power lines near Marty's truck. It stayed there when he went out to warm up the truck. It stayed there while he went back out and left for work. Then the owl left shortly thereafter. It was like Aunt Jinny telling Marty that she is fine and to get on with it!

Grandma, you were one of the most powerful, strongest women--in your own quiet way--I have ever known. I truly held you in awe, and as I get older (you and I talked about this more than once, in fact) I am proud to realize how much I take after you. I can only hope to emulate a little of your example in my lifetime, particularly as I help my brother raise his son. I love you and miss you, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you heard "Well done, good and faithful servant" as you entered the gates of Heaven. See you on the other side. Missy

We are sorry for your loss. Virginia was a wonderful lady. She did alterations for us and was always ready in a moments notice to do them. The church will miss her immensely as she was instrumental in so many meals. Ron so enjoyed untying her aprons strings while she worked in the kitchen! Our heartfelt prayers are with you. Aunt Jinny ~ You need to know that I strongly disapprove of your departure ~ your presence in my life was supposed to continue forever! You were an amazing woman whom I admired enormously. No matter what life threw at you, you always rose to the occasion, did whatever was required, and got on with living ~ and did it all with dignity. I'm very thankful that we had an opportunity to chat recently and that I referred to you then as a 'tough cookie' ~ a description about which you were quite pleased! And deservedly so. Although we lived a great distance apart, the visits spent with you were always such good times and have left many fond memories. After Mom died, you helped fill the void that her departure left and that was a huge gift you gave so willingly. You were always very special to me and our relationship was cherished. Thank you for being a part of my life. You are already missed more than you can imagine. Your loving niece.....Phyllis
