Helen M. Spencer age 92 of Greenville went home to rest in her Saviors arms Sunday February 13, 2011at Laurels of Kent in Lowell, MI. She was born in Potterville, MI on April 28, 1918 the daughter of the late Ray W. and Nellie B. Dickey Kinne. Helen was a graduate of Okemos High School in 1936. She worked at Wolverine World Wide in Greenville until their closure and retired from Ore-Ida Foods in 1983. For 20 years Helen spent her summers at her trailer at the Mackinaw Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Jackie, her brother Ben Kinnie, the father of her children, Floyd Spencer and her beloved son Tommy Spencer.
She is survived by her children; Floyd (Nancy) Spencer of Greenville, Joan (Ken) Cottrell of Climax, NC, Carol (Bruce) Schnepp of Greenville, Elaine (Doug) MacKellar of Paris, MI, grandchildren, Ron ( Brenda) Spencer, Dawn (Brian) Arnold, Wilber Spencer, Kathy (Jeff) Galleger, Julie ( Larry) Tucker, Steve Cottrell, Jeff (Beth) Cottrell, Kristy (Billy) Buckner, Michael, David and Debbin Schnepp, 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and her sister Shirley Livingston of Louisiana.
Private services will be held at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Charnley officiating with inurnment in the Church Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
