1933 - 2011
 Mr. Rex C. Lippert, age 77 of Stanton, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011. He was born December 4, 1933 in Alma, the son of Lloyd and Leafa (Fuller) Lippert. He attended Alma Schools. On May 8, 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as an airplane mechanic in Japan. He was honorably discharged on December 31, 1953. On April 6, 1957, Rex married the love of his life, Phyllis Frost, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. He retired from Lobdell Manufacturing in Alma in 1996 after more than 35 years of employment. After retirement he continued to farm at home. He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Edmore, and was a life member of the Burns-May VFW Post 5602 in Six Lakes. Rex is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Phyllis; children, Shelley (Michael) Garrod of St. Johns and Scott (Diane) Lippert of Stanton; grandchildren, Andy (Cheron) Lippert of Virginia, Erica Lippert of Saranac, Shannon (Mark) Puetz of DeWitt; step-grandson, Daryl Jones of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Madison Lippert and Chloe, Gabriel, and Cullen Puetz; sisters, Patricia Prochasko of Texas and Jean (Gale) Phillips of Oscoda; sisters-in-law, Retha Lippert of Alma and Marvel Lippert of Grand Ledge; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hailey Puetz; five sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (530 W. Howard City-Edmore Rd., Edmore), with Rex's pastor, Rev. William Twynham officiating. Visitation at church will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral. Burial with full military honors will be in Hillside Cemetery in Entrican. Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
