1948 - 2011
Ronald J. Doran, age 62, of Howard City, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. He was born April 29, 1948 in Edmore, the son of Edward J. and Carroll E. (Petersen) Doran. He retired from General Motors in Lansing after a long career. He was later employed by Miller Metals in Grand Rapids. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Kendra Jones of Lansing, Ronald Doran of Lansing, Kylie Doran of Howard City, Joseph Doran of Howard City, and Heather (Steve) Stebbins of Dorr; grandchildren, Crerah, Owen, Makayla, Sidney, Paul, Karie, and Cindy; sister, Cheryl Rettig of Barryton; and nephews, Matt Groom, Ethan Greene, Ryan Greene, and Jordon Greene. Funeral services including committal will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Eugene A. Kooi officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Ron was a light that came into my aunt's life at a time when she needed to be loved and he filled her heart with so much of it. Brought her two wonderful children and was a great father to her other daughter as well. Aunt Sue, Kylie, Joey and Heather - my heart goes out to you during this time of great sadness in the hopes that the love and memories will fill your hearts now and forever more...
