Marian Irene Copeland age 91 formerly of Greenville and Oklahoma passed away at her residence in Bishop Hills Elder Care Community Rockford. She was born in Oakfield Township Kent County, Michigan on October 6, 1919 the daughter of James and Mary J. Brown Cooper. She married Robert Gordon Copeland on June 10,1939 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenville and worked in nursing for Dr. Charles Stevens and at United Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years on December 18, 2006 and also her son-in-law Donald Johnson on October 25, 2003.
Surviving are her children Patricia Johnson of Greenville, Charlotte Jean Harding of Owasso, Oklahoma, James A. and Maureen Copeland of Rockford and Roberta and David Waldron of Edmore, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and her sister Margaret Hawley of Belding and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Hurst Funeral Home on Monday April 25,2011 at 2 PM with Rev. Bruce Anna officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Monday from noon until 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan or 1st Baptist Church Greenville
