Heidi Marie Brasser Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1973 - 2011

Heidi Marie BrasserHeidi Marie Brasser, age 37, of Gowen was called to her eternal home on Friday, April 22, 2011. A true woman of Adonai, Heidi possessed both a deep passion for her Savior, and an inspired gift of sharing her faith with others. A truly devoted wife to Brian, she was deeply committed to her five sons, and relished the opportunity to homeschool each of them; each son is a unique reflection of their wonderful mother. Heidi was involved in a profound and ongoing study of the Jewish roots of her faith, completing numerous courses at The Institute for Hebraic-Christian Studies. A member of Resurrection Life church in Rockford, she was also involved with, and deeply blessed by, the Tree of Life Congregation in Comstock Park.

Heidi was born in East Grand Rapids on October 9,1973. She was raised in Byron Center and Grandville, and graduated from Grandville High School in 1991. She married Brian on April 13, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Surviving are her husband Brian and their children; Jacob, Jordan, Isaac, Elijah and Silas; her grandmother, Lillian Zdanciewicz of Kentwood; her parents Bruce and Nancy (Zdanciewicz) Isenhoff of Grandville; her brothers, Brian (Susan) Isenhoff of Rogers, Arkansas; Gregg (Breahna) Isenhoff of Belmont; her sister, Molly (Jeff) Dervin of Rockford; her husband's family: his parents, Dennis and Mary (Groot) Brasser of Grand Rapids; and brothers, Bruce (Cathie) Brasser of Rockford and Brad (Carrie) Brasser of Elmhurst, IL and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, April 26 at Resurrection Life Church in Rockford. Visitation will immediately proceed the service from 5:30 to 6:45. Burial has taken place at Spencer Mills Cemetery, Gowen.

Jacob and Jordan I have had the pleasure of getting to know both of you at Walmart. The biggest honor a mother can have is when her children grow up to be responsible and respectable and honrable young men. I know that you both honor your mother in this way. You are both a joy to work with. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. You honor your mother in the most valuable way a son can. Your friend at walmart, cashier Nancy.

Dear Brian & Sons, Brian, Although we've not met personally I feel like we have. Months ago, Nancy & Bruce introduced us(prayer partners) to you, gave us a picture of your family & asked us to pray for you. Heidi's struggle is over, she is rejoicing and has just spent her first Easter with Christ in person! Though we rejoice that her pain is over and she is with our Lord, her presence here on earth will be greatly missed. I will continue to pray for you and your family as you grieve the loss of your wife and mother and continue on your life's journey without her at your side. The agony and pain will lift as the rays of the Son shines through to you. With Blessings, Jane

Our thoughts, love and prayers for the entire family. We knew Heidi back in the early 90's. Our girls were friends as well as us as parents. We were shocked and so saddened to read this news. But, we are so thankful for a Lord that loves and cherishes His children. May you know that comfort! Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. I can only imagine her joy as she spends eternity with her Lord and Savior.

Our family is grieving the loss of this incredible woman. I first spoke to Heidi 2 years ago when I saw an ad in the paper for puppies. We talked for a long time that day & had an instant connection; our love of dogs, our love of our kids, that we were both the same age. I liked her very much immediately! We came up the next day & picked out a puppy for our family, Toby, who has been a joy to us every day. I only had the privilege to meet her once, but it was very clear that she was so proud of her boys! And in my home of all girls, our dog will still seek out the company of a little boy to play with...I attribute that to the warmth & love he felt while being raised by your wonderful family.

We deeply share your loss but celebrate her spirit. God gave her a unique ability to infect everyone around her with that spirit. She always left you with a feeling of warmth, love and joy. I now this to be true because in visiting her and thinking of her now she envokes that feeling to me. We know where she is and we now pray for you and the boy's hearts to heal and all who loved her. You will always celebrate her life with a memory of joy and happiness because that was what she was.
