1932 - 2011
Joan Louise Chapin age 79 of Greenville passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus Grand Rapids. She was born in Detroit MI on May 25, 1932. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greenville and the Homemakers of the church. She had retired from Electrolux after several years of service.
She married David Chapin at the Remus United Methodist Church on December 2 1967.
Her son Edward Lucier, sister Faith Kutchinski and brother Ralph Ringer preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband David of Greenville, children, Cindy Opute of Greenville, Lawrence (Ginny) Lucier of Sheridan, Daniel Lucier of Sheridan, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, her brother John Fall of Springfield MO and sister Ellen Wallace of Rochester MI.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 11 AM Monday July 11, 2011 with inurnment in the church columbarium. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM also on Monday July 11. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Youth Program at 1st United Methodist Church.

Oh my heart fell when I saw this. Mr. & Mrs. Chapin were the best!! They were always the first to give "the Peterson Girls" a smile, a great big hug & a friendly hello when we attended Sunday School. They are one of my fondest memories of FUMC! Thinking of you and sending some warms hugs back to you Mr. Chapin. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Joan Chapin was a Wonderful Lady! I will miss her very much. She was like a grandmother to me, Mr and Mrs. Chapin have both been a HUGE part of my life!
