Julia Ann Ostrander Julia Ann (Julie) Ostrander age 73 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday July 2, 2011 at her home in Greenville. She was born March 12, 1938 the daughter of John and Katherine Merle Houser in Detroit MI. She married Charles Ostrander on September 21, 1957 in Greenville. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 47 years and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known by many for her chocolate chip cookies and her enjoyment in helping others with meals and acts of kindness.

Julie is survived by her husband Chuck, their children; Jeffrey (Joy) Ostrander of Lowell, Thomas (Pam) Ostrander of Williamston, Susan (Scott) Wyckoff of Greenville and Michael Ostrander of Smyrna, Georgia; her grandchildren; Jamie Wyckoff, Joshua (Michelle) Wyckoff, Justina (David) Roberts, Samantha (Joshua) Long, Sage Wyckoff, Emily (Ben) Vanderbilt, Annie, Grace, Peter, Zachary, Madison and Daniel Ostrander and great granddaughter, Julianne Roberts, her brothers, Robert Hauser of Kentwood, Jack Hauser of Detroit, sisters, Barbara Stanley of Iowa and Pauline (Milton) Schwab of Ohio, her brother-in-law James Ostrander of Lakeview and sister-in-law Virginia Jaquays of Coral.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 6 2011 at 1 PM from Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. R. Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Entrican. Visitation will be at Hurst Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church or Heartland Hospice.

Chuck, Im sorry for your loss. I know you will look forward to seeing her again in heaven. Just wanted to send our love and prayers. Wish I could be there to give you a hug. Praise God Julie is not hurting anymore. She has reached her goal. We will miss her but you can't wish her back. The loss is great but Heaven is greater. My prayers go out to the family for comfort at this time.

47 years she has been a very significant spoke in my wheel. She is the definition of "sweet". Her example of kindness will continue to inspire me and, with God's grace, help transform me. May I be more like her because she is more like him.
