1922 - 2011
 Albert O. Briggs Jr. age 88 of Greenville died Thursday July 7, 2011 at Hospice House Holland. He was born in Greenville the son of Albert O. and Vivian Phelps Briggs on September 22, 1922. Al was a graduate of Greenville High School class of 1940. He served in the US Army in WW II as a Staff Sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He retired from the US Postal Service with 33 years of service and was a life member of the VFW Post # 5065 of Sheridan and a member of the Letter Carriers of America.
He married Helen Peterman on October 11, 1947. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Garth and his son-in-law David Rooker in 2007.
He is survived by his children; Lisa (David) Ralph of Greenville, Albert III (Mary) Briggs of Rockford, Robert (DeeDee) Briggs of Dorr and Dru Ann Rooker of Ada, grandchildren; Anna and Chris Ralph, Alex, Emily and Mitch Briggs, Robert and Cory Briggs, Katie (David) Richards and Liz (Frank) Rittersdorf, his brother-in-law Harold
(Esther) Peterman of Greenville.
Family services will be held at Rest Haven Memory Gardens Belding with Rev. Dr. Jerrold T. Jones officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Area Senior Center, 715 S. Baldwin St. Greenville MI 48838

We all will miss your dad. We always enjoyed visiting with him. When Mary and Rocky brought him to our house for Christmas last year he was such a big part of all the festivities! We will sure miss him and mom this year. I always enjoyed talking to him about horses. Take care, Chris and Tim
