My sympathy goes out to the Highfield family. Highfields was very much a part of my boyhood in Geenville the 60s. I remember the soda fountain limeades, the great sundaes, buying Hardy Boy books in the back, film developing, and my Dad stopping in for cashews after church on Sundays. My sincere thanks for those memories. May God Bless.

We very much regret than an out of town obligation, which would be very difficult to reschedule, prevents us from attending the memorial on Friday.
We have always thought of Jack as exemplar of class. Jack was one classy guy in demeanor, intellect, dress, mannerisms, in everything - except perhaps in college football loyalties.
The article in the Daily News reminded us of the many contributions Jack made to the quality of life in Greenville. For that we are thankful and appreciative.
But we are especially thankful to be able to call him a friend.
A fine gentleman who will be missed by many.

Jack will long be remembered as a community leader who donated his time and energy freely for the benefit of the people and children of Greenville. I will always remember his friendliness to us as kids in the store. Stay strong, Mike, and may God rest his soul.

I was sorry to read about Jack's death. I have great childhood memories of our Grant/Macomber Street neighborhood and the Highfields were a big part of that. God bless you--

Dear Marge and Michael,
I am so sorry to hear about Jack. It seems like you folks have been my dear friends since I was a young girl. I used to baby sit with Michael, whom I adored. Then I worked in Highfields all through high school, which was a great job to have. I have seen you on many occasions through the years and have always enjoyed the visits so much. I will miss seeing Jack. He was a joy to work with, a wonderful man, and a great friend. Please accept my most sincere sympathy. I will keep you and your family in my prayers at this most difficult time. With love, Joanne

Dear Marge and Mike...I will always have fond memories of Jack. He gave a very young boy his first job, taught me many valuable lessons about business and set me on the track to pharmacy school which led to owning my own store. The friendships formed at the Highfield Drug store are the most treasured I have even to this day..Marge, Dick & Eileen, Joanne, Ellie and others. I will always appreciate what he did for me. May God strengthen you for the days ahead and give you comfort in your loss.
David.
