1924 - 2011
Philip Arthur Wise age 87 of Greenville passed away Friday August 26, 2011 at Our Place Cares. He was born in Greenville February 9 1924 the son of Arthur and Esther MacClain Wise. He graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1942 and served in the US Army in WWII. He was employed for the Gibson Refrigerator Co for 45 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville, the Gibson retirees and VFW Post 5065 of Sheridan. He married Muriel Forward in Elkhart IN on October 12, 1946. He was preceded in death by his son William Wise in 2005 and daughter-in-law Faith Wise in 2007. Also preceding were his brothers Robert, William and Carl.
He is survived by his wife Muriel, his son Carl (Susan) Wise of Lakeview, grandchildren, Jeremy ( Naomi) Wise of Geenville, Amy ( Joseph) Tilchen of Dearborn, Dr. Stefanie Wise of Harper Woods, MI, Lisa (Frank) Bristol of Saranac, Carl ( Christine) Wise of Grand Rapids, Jennifer ( Mark) Ullery of Greenville, Todd ( Kory) Higgins of Cedar Springs, Teague ( Tammi) Higgins of Philadelphia, many great grand children, sisters-in-law Roberta Wise of Greenville and Esther Wise of Alma.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 11 AM at 1st Baptist Church of Greenville with Rev. Paul Dickson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Burial with military honors from VFW Post 5065 will be in West Montcalm Cemetery. |
