Mr. Ronnie Lee Johnston, age 64, of Wyoming, MI, died Monday, September 12, 2011. He was born October 4, 1946 in Sheridan, the son of Richard and Betty (Waldon) Johnston. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, honorably serving his country during Vietnam. He is survived by his children, Ronald Johnston of Sparta, Douglas (Teresa) Johnston of Holland, Melissa (Skip) Townes of Cedar Springs, Joshua (Melissa) Johnston of Colorado Springs, and Justin Johnston of Grandville; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Ray Johnston (Mary Jane Ostrander) of Sheridan; sister, Marcia Peterman of Texas; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Fern and Henry Tropea. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Warren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Springs American Legion Glen Hill Post 287, with Pastor Dan Mead of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the needs of the family.
