I am so sorry. I was looking online to find how I could get ahold of Tammy, and I came up with Jim's obituary. I know I am a few years late. I am so sorry. The world lost one of the few good men that it has. I hope you are all doing well. I have been living in KY, recently returned to MI April again, sorry this is late hope you still see it. it is never too late to say I love you all. your a wonderful wonderful loving family an so often while I was growing up brought me into your home and into your family. I felt I belonged. YOU set a standard for me in so many areas of my life.

We are so sorry for your loss. Jim was a great man and he will be missed by all who had the wonderful opportunity to know him. He was a great family man and has left some beautiful memories of his time with his wife, kids and grandkids. Always there to help whenever needed. God has opened his arms for him and he will have eternal life forever. Alleluia!!!
Sorry I couldn't be there for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this very trying time. When my father died people said he will come to you in many different ways and he does. You will have those same feelings and know he's watching over you!!

If you show people you can handle the responsibility, the trust in your ability grows" Words written by Jim and given to me in a very long letter back in 1989, a letter that I still have. Jim is a very special person that took the time to correct the wrongs and celebrate achievement....always with smile:)

James Robert Perry age 64 of Sheridan passed away at home Sunday November 20, 2011. He was born in Grand Rapids July 19 1947 the son of Robert and Eileen Carhart Perry. Jim was retired from Big L Lumber Company in Sheridan and was active in his community serving on the village council and the Sheridan Fire Department. He was a graduate of Saranac High School, Aquinas College and was a member of St. Bernadette of Lourdes Catholic Church in Stanton serving on church council, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7585 and loved sports and the out of doors, fishing, hunting and camping. He was preceded in death by his father Robert. Surviving is his wife Carol A. Collier, whom he married on April 11, 1969, their children; Tammy (Scott) Lincoln of Sheridan, James (Taintaya) Perry of Stanton and Shawn (Esmeralda) Perry of Grand Rapids, grandchildren, Zachary, Trevor and Rian, his mother and his siblings; Richard (Jill) Perry, Robert (Cindy) Perry II, Annmarie (Mark) Perry, Paul Perry all of Saranac, John (Jan) Perry of Sheridan and William (Lynn) Perry of Stanton, his brothers-in-law, Robert (Bonnie) Collier of Greenville and Wayne (Annette) Collier of Sheridan and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 11 AM from St. Bernadette of Lourdes Catholic Church in Stanton with Rev. Dominic Tirkey as celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery Sheridan. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home Greenville with a rosary prayed at 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the K of C council # 7585 or to St. Bernadette Church.
