Esther Louise Sibley age 91 formerly of Greenville passed away Saturday February 25, 2012 at Rehoboth AFC Byron Center. She was born in Lakeview July 29, 1920 the daughter of Forrest and Vera Briggs Gummer.
She was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1937, belonged to the Extension Club of Wolverton Plains, Greenville and a former long time member of Faith Baptist Church Greenville and a member of Calvary Church, Grand Rapids.
She married Francis A. Sibley at her family home in Lakeview on December 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1995. Also preceding her in death were her 8 year old brother Kingsley Gummer, her grand daughter Nancy T. Sibley in 1994, her son-in-law, Wayne Johnson in 1987, her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law; Levis and Joe Stephanski and Gerald Red Shenefield.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Johnson of Ooltewah, TN, her son Robert A. Sibley of Milan MI, grandchildren; Eric Johnson of Wyoming, MI, Erin (David) Hurst of Rockford, Heather (Scott) Jackson of Maderia CA, great grandchildren; Rylee, Cody, Katelyn , Emily and Thomas, her sister, Charlotte Shenefield of Greenville and nieces and nephews.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Thursday March 1, 2012 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Winter of Faith Baptist Church as officiant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Baptist Church, Greenville or Rehoboth AFC, Byron Center.
