
Eileen Patricia Nixon age 89 of Greenville died Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Greenville. She was born in County Kilkenny, Ireland on February 14, 1923 the daughter of William and Mary Dillon Kirwan. She married Theodore Ted L. Nixon near London England on July 21, 1945 while he was stationed with the US Army in Europe. They had celebrated a devoted 56 years of marriage when he died on January 6,2002. She was also preceded in death by her sister May Dunphy and brother James Kirwan.
She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the St. Martin Guild and the Altar Guild. Eileen and Ted enjoyed many years of giving and helping others through their church and neighborhood.
She is survived by her sisters Kathleen Kirwan, Bernadette Ashcroft and Ann Lightfoot all of Liverpool England, nephews, Joseph (Laura) Dunphy and Brian Dunphy,both of Hamilton Ontario Canada, Jim Nixon of Grand Rapids, Bob Nixon of Oak Hill, FL. and niece Mary (Donald) Dawson of Hamilton Ontario, Canada, several special god-children, her special family in all the Turner children and her sister-in-law Dorothy Sidner of Sturgis,MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 11 AM from St. Charles Catholic Church with Rev. Father Charlon Mason as celebrant. Visitation will be held at Hurst Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 PM with a rosary prayed at 7:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Charles Church
