Donald V. FisherDonald V. Fisher, 83

GREENVILLE - Donald V. Fisher, 83, formerly of Greenville, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Samaritan Home Care in Chandler, Ariz.

He was born March 27, 1928, in Belding, the son of William Vern and Harriet T. Fisher.

Don spent his childhood years with both his Stinehower grandparents and his father. He "lied" about his age to join the Air Force, and was stationed in South Dakota in the late 1940s. There he met Beverley M. Pray, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1947, in Rapid City, S.D. They lived there for a few years before moving to Greenville.

Donald was employed at Federal-Mogul, retiring after 35 years of employment. In retirement, he worked part time at Cream Crest Dairy, delivering milk to area residents. He loved to fly, owned his own plane and built many model planes. He also liked to travel, bowl, play golf and camp. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his brother, Kenneth.

Don is survived by his children, Donald (Nhung) Fisher, Ronald Fisher, Cherilyn (Larry) Caverly; grandchildren, Jason (Tammy) Fisher, Wade (Elizabeth) Fisher, Teague (Stephanie) Fisher, Jill (Rob) Salik, Neal (Val) Fisher, Tammy (Eric) Sorensen, Matthew (Kimberly) Caverly; great-grandchildren, Braden, Brocke, Paige, William, Paige, Leslie, Trenton, Kyah, Kayleen, Hannah, Ashley, Dayton; great-great-grandchildren, Destiney and Ellie; brother, Kenneth (Gwen) Fisher; and nieces and nephews.

Don also had several brothers and sisters: Bill, Sharon, Fern, Doris, Helen, Clara, Marilyn, Eleanor, and twin sisters.

Memorial services are at noon April 28, 2012 at the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a memorial fund for Travis and Lukas Coopshaw, c/o Thomas or Kathy Maier.
