Lillian D. Hansen Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1915 - 2012 Lillian D. Hansen age 97 of Dickerson Lake Stanton passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Greenville. She was born in Stanton on April 1, 1915 the daughter of John and Bessie Foote Dakin and grew up on the Colby Ranch with her family in Stanton. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1933 and attended County Normal and then was employed as the secretary to the school superintendent. She married Raymond V. Hansen on March 31, 1939 and was a member of the North Sidney now Faith Lutheran Church since 1939. After raising her family she worked for the US Government with the Soil Conservation District for 25 years. Her husband Raymond preceded her in death as did her five sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children; Richard ( Cheryl) Hansen of Stanton, Bob of Colorado and Janet ( Bill ) Hatt of Perry MI, her grandchildren, Doc Hansen of Stanton, Tom ( Irene) Hansen of Greenville, Joe (Kim) Hansen of Sidney, Melissa, Ginger and Bobbie Hansen of Colorado, six great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Monday September 24, 2012 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church Sidney with associate in ministry Bernice Sorrels officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Spectrum Health Hospice.

I had the privilege of interviewing Lillian a few years ago for the Daily News. She was such a sweet, friendly lady and I enjoyed our few visits as we put the article together. I recently moved to the U.P. and a mutual friend told me of her passing just today. Wish I could have been at the funeral. I was just thinking of Lillian the other day when I was back in the area and driving around Dickerson Lake.

Lillian's family. You had a very nice mother, grandmother, etc. I always enjoyed visiting with her about old times. Mostly when we were getting our hair done. She will be missed.
