Gaylord Spencer Beech Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1937 - 2012 Gaylord Spencer Beech age 74 of Belding formerly of Saranac passed away Saturday September 22, 2012 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus East Grand Rapids MI. He was born December 15, 1937 the son of Emery and Helen Strickfaden Beech in Grand Ledge MI. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the VFW Post of Belding and the American Legion Post # 203 Belding. He was a UPS driver in the Greenville area for over 22 years when he retired and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He married Shirley Ann Oswald on March 8, 1965 in Lansing. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Joseph and Roger Beech and Delores Ward and Sue Vesper. He is survived by his children, Gaylord Loring Beech and Katherine Ann Jensen both of Greenville, grandson Joseph Dennison, his brothers; Emery Fred (Deborah) Beech of Belding, Tom ( Marian) Beech of Florida and Randy Beech of Belding, brother in law Wallace (Sue) Oswald of Sheridan and his childrens mother Shirley Ann Gwozdz of Greenville. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 26 2012 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Harger officiating. Military honors will be provided by the VFW of Belding. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the VFW of Belding114 N. Bridge St. Belding MI 48809.

So sorry to hear of Gaylord's passing. We are traveling and did not get the news until today. To all my cousins, I wish you God's comfort and peace at this time of sorrow.

I was deeply sad to find that Gaylord had died before I returned from my trip. He and Shirley had been pts in our office for many years. My safff and I extend our condolence to the family at this time of loss.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Gaylord always called me "blood". He was our delivery guy when I worked at Ore-Ida and our paths have crossed numerous time since then. We were always going to compare family trees because stories told were that the spelling of Beech/Beach were changed down the line and we considered each other family or in Gaylord's words "Blood".
