Nellie Lyons age 93 of Stanton formerly of Grand Rapids passed away Monday September 24, 2012 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus Grand Rapids. She was born in Greenville MI on September 20 1919 the daughter of John and Pearl Grey Morris.
She was married to Leo Edward Lyons and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Frank VandenBurg Jr. her brother Ellis Morris and her sisters, Hazel Curd, Blanche Young, Bernice Diehl, Ella Mae Runyon and Mattie Jensen.
She was employed at the former Pantlind Hotel in Grand Rapids for many years and for several years made her home with her daughter Elsie in Entrican where she enjoyed the out of doors and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Elsie Moore and Albertha Mae Sagryn both of Stanton and her sister Marquerite Moore of Greenville, her grandchildren, Debra (Sam) Juarez of Howell, Sue (Mike) Berry of Greenville, James (Ginny) VandenBurg of Rockford, Patricia (Gary) Buskirk of Stanton, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandsons.
Memorial services will be held at Hurst Funeral Home 10 AM Thursday September 27,2012 with Pastor R. Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Grand Rapids.
