Joyce (Parr) David, age 53 of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Stanton, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. She was born March 18, 1959, the daughter of Wayne and Bonita (Petersen) Parr. On June 24, 2003, she married Joel O. David in the Grenadines. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Bonita; sister, Bonnie Gorsuch; and mother-in-law, May David. She is survived by her loving husband, Joel; brothers, Gale (Marilyn) Parr of Stanton and Tim (Mary) Parr of Sheridan; sister, Tammy (David) Dudenhofer of Oscoda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lyn (Shelly) Gorsuch, Stephen (Lorel) David, Augustus David, Ruel David, Kitson David, Michael David, Desrie (Clef) Richers, and Santa David; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday evening, October 7, 2012 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the funeral. Rev. Jamey Nichols, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Stanton, will serve as officiant. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Hospice.

We only recently learned of Joyce's passing. We met Joyce on our honeymoon cruise May 1984 and have kept in touch, at xmas, ever since. Our sincere condolences to her husband and family.We will miss her cheery cards and letters and will treasure the memories of our long distance friendship.

Sorry to hear about Joyce,I enjoyed working at the ISD with Joyce and we spent many times going to the movies or scrapbooking together. She was a very bright lady. You are all in my thoughts.

I have many wonderful memories of growing up with Joyce--attending school together, summer Bible camp, birthday parties, church and youth activities. Thankfully, my photo albums contain quite a few pictures of Joyce throughout the years, and I will always treasure them. She was a very sweet friend, always kind and full of smiles and fun. I will miss her greatly, and want to express my sympathy to the Parr and David family. May the Lord comfort you.

My condolences to all the family and friends. Joyce and I graduated together, I haven't seen her in years as all the class of 77 went our separate ways. My heart still feels your pain for the loss of Joyce. She is with God now, she will be forever missed!
